PHILOSOPHY

To conduct valuable research and product development by teams of excellent multidisciplinary scientists

MANDATE

1.               Identify great fundamental academic research and facilitate / drive the process to speedy commercialisation / industrialisation.

2.               Develop the innovative ideas of Coco’s scientific team and collaborators, with partnership from private investors or in collaboration with industrial partners in RSA and internationally.

3.               Take recently developed / pre-commercial products available internationally and assess application to identified unique niche RSA requirements.

SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE

The company concentrates on Nanotechnology. The main focus areas include:

air and water filtration, absorption, controlled release, environmental catalysis and biomedical applications.

·                         Project planning and management of multi-disciplinary, industrial research projects.

·                         Networking between academia and industry locally and internationally. 

·                         Air and water filtration and filter media, design, evaluation, modification and optimisation.

·                         High voltage insulation materials development and material evaluation.

·                         Polymer characterisation, failure analysis and in-service life-time prediction.

·                         Industrial waste water disinfection, desalination and mining / beneficiation  of seawater / waste water.

·                         Outdoor coatings - Superhydrophobic and self_­-cleaning – “biomemetics” – photovoltaic / wind turbines.

·                         Reutilisation of industrial waste in water purification and structural applications.

·                         Controlled release product development, nanofibres production,  electrospinning & biomedical polymers.
