I am very much interested in biomimicry as it relates to small scale manufacturing.  I am working on a repeatable model of a small "factory" that will operate on a community level.  It's main purpose is to design and build products that we truly "need'. Products that enhance our lives while doing no harm.  It will operate on a scale (no more than 12 people) that allow interaction (a relationship) between everyone.  It will  provide meaningful work that leaves everyone energized at the end of their workday, ready to continue their lives with family, friends and community.  They will be able to talk to anyone about their "work" and be understood and appreciated, thus spreading the idea that there is plenty of work that will fuel a new economy and turn us away from the past mindless consumerism that has proven to be unsustainable.

This model will demonstrate to any community the process of exploring the idea of what we really need in our lives, how to design it with the available resources, and then how to make and market it.
