“The Garden of Secrets” is a 20 minute documentary exploring the value of botanical gardens and the wealth of knowledge they provide.
“Through millions of years of evolution, the structures and processes of organisms have resolved many of the engineering and environmental challenges facing the modern world–we just need to look, observe, and learn. Botanical gardens are “idea libraries,” places where a wealth of these solutions have been assembled near the doorsteps of the scientists, engineers, and designers tackling these issues”
The documentary is presented by TEALEAVES in conjunction with the UBC Botanical Garden. A panel discussion on the film was featured as part of Seattle Design Festival 2019.
This collection highlights species and innovations referenced in the documentary and as part of the panel discussion.
