The AskNature data set contains a hierarchy of functions. Biomole encodes this information within different visual elements. Interactive data painting of functions allows users to search biological strategies for functional co-occurrence. The movement of the visual elements is a metaphorical nod to the bio-inspired nature of the data and the uncertainty of the design solution space.
Biomole is an ongoing project by Marjan Eggermont, Søren Knudsen, Richard Pusch, and Sheelagh Carpendale at University of Calgary and Simon Fraser University.Edit Summary
