Randomness is at the heart of creative thinking and in this lesson plan, it is used as an inspiration to trigger ideas. Students begin exploring how biomimicry has been used by car manufacturers to design a car using the boxfish as inspiration.
Observations of giraffes are then used to scaffold students to be creative. A poster is included that contains information about interesting functions that can be used to explore ideas, innovate and solve problems. There is also an option where the students can explore their own ideas.
